Homemade for a Cause
Homemade for a Cause
From Hurricanes Harvey and Irma, to wildfires right in our Bay Expanse community, at that place accept been numerous natural disasters and unsurmountable devastation in recent months. The Plum team felt the need to take action.
So last Th, nosotros hosted a Homemade Fair to raise money for the American Red Cantankerous. Never heard of a Homemade Fair? That's okay, we hadn't either! We made it up.
The afternoon started off with a homemade squad lunch –salad, baked craven, and crostini'due south, oh my! Right as the 3pm afternoon slump hit, we opened the Homemade Fair. Retrieve farmers marketplace meets vintage flea market. Employees were encouraged to bring their ain selves to the fair by selling items they made themselves. Nosotros had an incredible plough out of 'vendors' who sold everything from flowers to baked goods, bootleg vino, bath salts, pour over coffee, fresh juice and watercolor cards. All gain went toward disaster relief, and nosotros invited, friends and family unit to join in the fun.
The next day, we connected our work by packing upward personal hygiene bags for the NorCal burn down victims. The poor air quality due to the fires was noticeable even at our offices in Emeryville, California, and we wanted to do everything nosotros could to aid communities in need who were so close to home. Several Plum members packed upwards hygiene bags for the NorCal Fire Victims on Friday. We included things like shampoo, toothpaste, and soap. Bags were distributed to those that lost their homes through the American Red Cross.
At Plum, we've ever been committed to using business as a force for good. Using that force can prove up in many ways – both big and small.
